Test Knitter

The Not So Blue Tank has been sent to the test knitter.
If anyone would like to test knit this also, please email me. I need one more, just to make sure.
The tank is for a size child's size 14 or a juniors 3 which is my size. (yes I am actually that little, hence the need to create some of my own clothes)If there is anyone that would like to test knit it and help with more sizes, please let me know.
The only compensation I could offer is the pattern.
I am going to be knitting another one, following the pattern, just to make sure I didn't really screw it up somewhere. Hopefully it will come out right the second time.
The Easter Holiday was great and we did lots of GrandKid time, coloring eggs, and hands, and noses, and eating lots of candy. Not much knitting has been done lately. I did finally sit down and start a square blanket to donate, to whom or where, I have no clue right now, just mindless knitting while I was watching American Idol.
As I was scouring the stash, I found lots, and I mean lots, of acrylics, my FIL has given me over the years. Mainly from yard sales. I decided every skein was going to be used in blankets, hats, and booties, for donation. I don't use allot of acrylic for myself, just for the Grandbabies, parents like it hassle free. Just throwing out a blanket here and there with either a hat or booties from the leftovers should use up allot of the stash.

Sneak Peak

The Not So Blue Tank is fini!!!!

I finally finished it last night, now I just have to type it up, get some good action shots, and find a test knitter.
Here is a sneak peak for you.
It is blocking and drying and hopefully I will be able to get it all typed up while watching American Idol tonight.

Not So Blue Tank

I have finally decided what kind of bodice the tank will have. It just popped into my head as I was getting closer, now I am uber excited about finishing the stupid thing. I have been slowing down because I couldn't decide what to do with it that would look and fit the way I want it to, but now that I have finally gotten a picture in my head the needles are flying again.
I know I have been promising pictures, I just haven't taken the time to take some. Pretty soon it won't matter anymore because it is almost done. Then you will get the best picture of all, the EL Finito!

Swirl Shawl Kit

OMG! I love this shawl!
I have about six skeins of the JoJoland Melody yarn, and guess what it is going to be?
I will be adding this to the list of "In My Head...Should be OTN"

Yarn Arrival!

My KintPicks order came in.
Normally I would be all excited, unable to contain myself, but this yarn has been labeled and put up for Christmas knitting. Now what the hell fun is that?

This is the KnitPicks Wool of the Andes for Kevin's Cobblestone Sweater.
He chose such a dark color, guess it's a good thing I let him pick the color, I was thinking more along the lines of grey, or a light brown. But my color blind son-in-law decided he wanted a Charcoal color.

KnitPicks Telemark for the Flames Cap for Brian, who gets the black, red and orange, and Kevin, with the blues. Also Christmas knitting.

I might start the flames caps after the Not So Blue tank is done, I could whip out a couple of those in a week, and be that much closer for Christmas time!
I have never started Holiday kniting this early, but I have spent every other year, knitting right up until Christmas eve, I don't want to do that this year. I want to have an easy going time with it this year. So the caps may get done in the dead of a heat wave! Won't that be ironic!

Knittinfun Website

The Knittinfun website has been temporarily moved to the blog, until I figure out how I want to revamp it.

All of my free patterns from the site will be uploaded to the Knittinfree blog slowly but surely over the next few days.

For now, the blog is much easier to manage and the website needs a definite redo.

Sure can't wait

I have been patiently waiting for the new Interweave Knits Interweave Press to get to me.
My invoice said it would ship on March the 6th. Ok, still waiting. This is the only problem with subbing to the magazine, I have seen it in Wally World for about a week. When I wasn't subbed to it, my Walmart didn't carry it. Go figure.
So if you have gotten yours already........is it as cool as it looks on the website?
I like about half of the patterns in there. Usually it's only one or two patterns per mag, but this one looks like it is going to keep me pretty busy, and I can't wait to get my greedy little fingers on it.
Maybe it will be soon.
The design is almost to the bodice, and no I still haven't figured out what to do with it yet.
I am pretty sure it is going to end up a tank, but it's one of those, hmmmm...... mayhap it is, mayhap it ain't. (Stephen King punn there)
Someone suggested "Almost Blue" for the name, wait till you see the color, blue is the furtherest from it.
I will take some pics this evening and show you....think more along the lines of, Hot Mama! Pink!
You will just have to wait to see it.

Frogging

The new design had to be frogged, and I don't mean a row or two, I mean about three inches.
Another reason I love the LB Microspun yarn. After all that ripping out, when I got where I needed, I just picked the stitches back up and started where I needed to be. No creepy crawly stitches that wanted to come undone and make me fight to catch a loop.
Needless to say, this put me behind a little bit, but I also enjoy this process, I am learning allot as I go.
The big surprise about the new design,........hold on to your hats ladies and gents..........It NOT BLUE!
I was looking around the blog and Ravelry and I started noticing an awful trend, besides the little orange pants that I made for Bella back before Christmas, everything else I have knit has been Blue, dark blue, light blue, cornflower blue, candy blue, what's up with the frikkin blue!?
So the name for this tank has officially become, Not So Blue Tank, and whoever doesn't get it, have a look around the blog and the flickr album.

Coming Along

The design is coming along. I am almost to the bodice, but here in lies the problem, I don't know what I want, a tank, a boat neck, a Tee. I have pondered and pondered as I have been knitting it from the bottom up, and let me tell you, that gives a lot of pondering time, but I still can't make up my mind. I think, empire waist, hmmmm.... no maybe and halter, but then maybe just a t-back.........my mind is rolling and if this keeps up this one design may turn into many.

Little Miss Muffett

This is the cutest little Dress! I may have to push the Flames Cap back because I do believe both my little Granddaughters need this dress.

Sick, but knitting

The flu has caught up with us here, I wrote about it here: House of Grands
Even with all of that going on, I have been able to get in an hour here and there of knitting. I am still working on the design, it is coming out really cute if I do say so myself, you will just have to take my word for it for now.
I ordered the yarn for Kevin's Cobblestone Sweater and hopefully it will be here in the next day or two. This is a Christmas present, so it will get labeled and put to the side, Christmas knitting doesn't start for another month or so around here.
But then again, you never know, I may get a hair up my butt and decide to go ahead and get it done and put up.
Sticking to my new years resolution of no starting anything new without either finishing what I am working on, or being honest enough with myself to admit I don't like it, I won't finish it and rip it apart, I am sticking to the design for right now.
One Christmas present I think I will be starting soon is Kevin's (yes he will be receiving allot of knitted gifts this year) Flames Cap that will probably be the next thing otn, after I order the yarn.
I did the dumbest thing, ordered the yarn for the cobblestone and forgot the yarn for the hat.
I have all the windows and doors open, airing the 'cooties' out of the house. It's such a beautiful day for it, the sun is bright, a nice cool breeze is blowing, and hopefully the germies are clearing out. I am off to knit for a while, before I start feeling like crap again...

Getting back in the groove

It's been so long since I have wanted to knit anything.  I knit so many socks when I started knitting back in '99 that I was comp...
