The Checkerboard Cloth and Towel Set
I hope you enjoy this pattern as much as I do.
The sample was knit with P&C 4 ply 100% cotton.
This is fast becoming one of my faves in the kitchen.

Materials:
100% 4 ply cotton
Size 6 needles
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
CO: Cast On
BO: Bind Off
K: Knit
P: Purl
Cloth:
CO: 43
R2: K3, P7, across, end with K3
R3: K
Repeat rows 2 & 3, 2 times more
R8: P5, K3, *P7, K3. Repeat from * to last five sts, P5
R9: K
Repeat rows 8 & 9, 2 times more
Repeat rows 1 through 13 four times more, then do rows 1 through 7 once more.
BO
Weave in ends
For the towel CO 53
Repeat rows 1 through 13 9 times more, than rows 1 through 7 once more
